Whoever finds God...finds life!!!]]> Owasso Story tag:blog.lifechurch.tv,2009:/owasso_ok//21.4388 2009-03-10T20:42:53Z 2009-03-10T20:47:29Z Mindi We are four weeks into this "thing" called the Owasso campus and God has blessed it tremendously!  As the LifeKIDs Pastor, I am blown away by the new families who have attended the campus, as well as the volunteer commitment to make it all happen.  A quick story:  In LifeKIDs, our Toon Town kids learn a new verse very week - parents, you are hopefully helping them memorize these verses.  As part of the memorization process in one family, one of our Toon Town kids has begun teaching her 4 year old brother the verse.  He is so proud to recite it to his teachers and anyone else who will listen!  Absolutely amazing!

Besides LifeKIDs, LifeChurch.tv's ministry focus includes LifeGroups, LifeMissions and Switch (our LifeYouth program).  Please check out the Q&A table in the lobby for more information about all of our ministries - and if you are in the 6th-12th grade, or want to be a youth leader, stop by the Switch table to sign up for upcoming Switch groups!

Everyone could use some "wow" every weekend. Provide people a relevant experience with God...give them something they don't expect...and impact happens.

 

Each weekend IN OWASSO we have the privilege of partnering with God to change lives. We're two weeks in - imagine next week...next month...a year from now. If you're not envisioning hundreds or a few thousand you're thinking too small.

 

There's no small task on the Owasso campus. Here's why:

 

  • a team of volunteers transforms a gym...a commons area...a cafeteria...two hallways and a teacher's lounge into experience venues for worship, teaching, LifeKids, and hospitality.
  •  a blend of volunteers host attenders from *street to seat* two times on Sunday - parking, greeting, serving tea/coffee, and ushering.
  •  a collection of volunteers love to encourage kids as they encounter God in a way that makes sense to them - whatever their age.
  •  technically passionate volunteers seize the opportunity to enable the worship, teaching, and communications to be seen and heard.

And...

 

It's the simple, consistent invites made by each of us because we're so pumped about what's happening through the Owasso campus of LifeChurch.tv!

How about 681 lives! 118 young lives (kids)! And 6 individuals who said "yes" to Jesus offer of salvation!

 

That totals an awesome launch day in Owasso. The 14th LifeChurch.tv campus is underway...in a BIG way!

 

Can't wait to see what God does in week 2...4...10...52 and beyond! But 1 thing's for sure, lives will be changed.

 

What's measured on the Owasso campus reveals the essence of our efforts. That's why you're counted on to volunteer...serve...give...invite. And we'll keep counting because what ultimately matters is consistently true in Owasso and the 13 other LifeChurch.tv campuses...

A tremendous Sneak-Peek weekend (Feb. 8) had 450+ in attendance with 9 salvations. Over 100 volunteers gave their energy to set-up/tear-down, LifeKids, greeting, ushering, serving tea/coffee, parking, video, tech...etc.

 

We *officially* launch Sunday, February 15 with two experiences (10 & 11:30 a.m.).

 

Following months of preparation...tons of Central support...the partnership of the South Tulsa campus...and the we-couldn't-do-it-without-you love and ministry machine that is the Tulsa campus - IT'S here!

Over 200 of our make-IT-happen Owasso volunteer core rolled-up their sleeves and shouldered the load at our practice-run Sunday (February 1). In a span of two hours they transformed a gym into an auditorium venue...a cafeteria, hallway, and teacher's lounge into a LifeKids' zone...and a commons area into a hospitality hub.

 

Why - they get IT! How - they own IT!

 

And...

 

They'll keep doing IT because IT matters. Curious? Interested?

A disconnected pile on my family room floor soon became a substantial dwelling...all the pieces came together!

 

The Owasso campus volunteer core was hands-on Sunday, February 1 with two semi-trailers of gear - preparing for the newest LifeChurch.tv campus launch February 15.

 

Weekly...the pieces will fit together throughout Barnes Elementary School. From the Gym (Experience room) to the Cafeteria (LifeKids ToonTown) to adjoining hallways (LifeKids venues) and the Commons area (Lobby/Hospitality area) we'll construct a substantial venue for lives to be changed.

 

After all...that's what it's about - every person and piece working together to change lives.

It's the feeling of being the first...the early-bird...the front-row fan...

 

My wife and I were in the empty parking-lot of Barnes Elementary (the new home of LifeChurch.tv - Owasso) last weekend imagining...

 

"...this parking lot is gonna be full...!"

 

"...the lives...marriages...families...eternities that will be changed...!"

 

"...what challenges...addictions...will be overcome...!"

 

"...how many new spiritual opportunities will be seized...?"

 

Those thoughts prompted some brief prayer before we drove off.  It was a different kind of sneak-peek.

 

(Somewhat similar to what will happen - Sunday, February 8, 10 & 11:30 a.m. - before the masses begin arriving on Sunday, February 15, same times.)
